Doctoral Position in Agricultural Climate Impact Research
The University of Hamburg invites applications for a Doctoral candidate position to contribute to the model-based assessment of (extreme) climate impacts on the agricultural sector.

Position Overview
The successful candidate will work at the intersection of two CLICCS projects:
- M3 "Carbon dynamics and climate futures in drylands of Southern Africa"
- A3 "Costs and consequences of extremes in a changing climate"
Key Responsibilities
- Familiarize with and utilize the biophysical model EPIC (or equivalent alternative)
- Prepare soil and climate data for model parameters using script-based methods
- Research current crop management options and potential adaptations
- Validate model results to the reference situation
- Analyze scenarios to explore the impacts of climate change and management adaptation on crop yields, water, carbon, and nutrient balances
- Disseminate findings through impactful presentations and scholarly publications
