Research Group Sustainability and Global Change
The Research Group Sustainability and Global Change belongs to the Research Unit Sustainability and Climate Risks. We are devoted to multi-disciplinary research and education on human-induced environmental change that is either global in nature or found in regions around the world.
The Unit’s current long-term research foci are the economics of climate change and the economics of agricultural externalities. In this regard, creating transparency about the synergies and trade-offs among various sustainability goals and broader societal goals is key. This includes alternative ethical framings for decision-making under heterogeneous uncertainty.
Recently, the FNU has also begun pursuing fundamental research at the academia-society interface on both the potential future roles and the limitations of the university in relation to society’s sustainable development.
