Jana Sillmann is the new Co-Chair of the General Assembly of Future Earth. In cooperation with Kristie Ebi, she leads from now on the responsibilities of the Future Earth General Assembly. Future Earth is a global network of scientists, researchers, and innovators collaborating for a more sustainable planet.
The Future Earth General Assembly, established in 2021, is an inclusive body representing the Future Earth community and gathering once a year. It provides a platform for broad consultation and enables the full community to participate in the development of Future Earth core agenda, strategies, activities, and structures. The Assembly also elects the Governing Council, which prioritizes ideas and activities and enables the Global Secretariat to serve the community and carry out actions to help Future Earth reach its goals and fulfill its mission.

In her role as Co-Chair of the Future Earth General Assembly, she was invited by the Future Earth Hub Taipei (Taiwan) as reviewer to the Valorization Workshop (July 14-17, 2026) for a recently completed Belmont Forum Collaborative Research Action (CRA) on Disaster Risk Reduction and Response (DR3) in Tainan (Taiwan) and met with the Future Earth Taipei director and office members to discuss future collaborative research projects.
