PIER PLUS represents a research alliance of all universities funded by the City of Hamburg and independent research institutes. It is organized along six PIER profiles. On 13 May 2024, the profile ‘Climate-friendly Mobility’ held its founding workshop. In his role as CoChair of the profile ‘Climate and Coast’, in an invited presentation Prof. Hermann Held outlined potential synergies between those two profiles, resting on the interconnection between mapping out possible futures, regulatory necessities, and engineering-type of innovation, in view of research strengths within PIER PLUS. Thereafter, he was appointed CoChair of the activity ‘overarching questions’ within the profile ‘Climate-friendly Mobility’.
