Laudatio for the award ceremony of the Kurt-Hartwig-Siemers-Wissenschaftspreis 2024

Prof. Dr. Hermann Held gave the laudatory speech at the award ceremony of the Kurt-Hartwig-Siemers-Wissenschaftspreis 2024 at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. The president of the Hamburgischen Wissenschaftlichen Stiftung, the president of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the president of the University of Hamburg spoke also at the event.
In cooperation with the Edmund Siemers Foundation (Hamburg), the Hamburgische Wissenschaftliche Stiftung awards the Kurt-Hartwig-Siemers-Wissenschaftspreis, worth 30,000 euros, to scientists at the University of Hamburg for outstanding research. In recognition of academic excellence and cutting-edge research the price has been given since 1970. This year's prize was awarded on 17 December to Dr. Nils Christiansen, a postdoctoral researcher in the Cluster of Excellence „Climate, Climatic Change, and Society“ (CLICCS), for his research on the effects of the expansion of renewable energies in the North Sea.
