PhD student Luisa Gensch, funded by the Übersee-Club e.V, was invited on 26 March 2026 to speak about her dissertation project. She started the event of the Übersee-Club e.V., after which the keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Patrick Cramer, gave his talk. Her presentation was appreciated by Cramer, who said that he was grateful that excellent young researchers thrive in good working conditions at the Übersee Club e.V..
Luisa Gensch's research, which is affiliated with Sustainability and Climate Change, focuses on sustainable land use. Using economic modeling, she examines potential sustainable future scenarios for agriculture in Europe. The key question of her research is how agricultural land use and production can be made more sustainable. She is supervised by Uwe Schneider and Kerstin Jantke.
In her talk at the Übersee-Club e.V., she discussed the third paper of her dissertation, which is yet to be published. In this paper, she addresses the question of what motivates farmers to switch from conventional to organic farming.
